Untrance collects no data. It does not transmit anything,
because it cannot: the app is built without the Android INTERNET
permission, so the operating system itself blocks all network access. You can
verify this yourself with any APK inspector, or on the app's own home screen -
tap the offline badge and it lists every permission the app requests.

Untrance is a screen-time coach. To do its job it needs to know which app is in the foreground and for how long. That information is read from Android's usage-access API, processed on your device, and written to a private database inside the app's own storage on your phone. It is never sent anywhere.
We do not collect, receive, store, sell, share, or have any access to your data. We could not obtain it even if asked to. Specifically, the app has:

Some coaching lines are written by Gemini Nano through Android's AICore, an on-device system service. That inference runs locally on your phone. No prompt or output leaves the device, and Untrance has no network access to send one. On phones without AICore, the app uses built-in written lines instead.
If you have Android Backup switched on in your system settings, Android may include Untrance's data in your backup to your Google account, so your history and streak survive moving to a new phone. This is a feature of the operating system, performed by Google under your own account and your control - not by us, and we have no access to it. You can turn it off in Android Settings, or exclude Untrance from it. Nothing else ever leaves the device.

The app does not request internet access, location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files, or your calendar.
Untrance is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect anything from anyone, of any age.
Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored. You can also clear it at any time from Android Settings, App info, Storage, Clear data. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing on our side to request the deletion of.
Laws such as India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, the GDPR, and the CCPA give you rights over personal data a company holds about you. We hold none. There is no profile to access, correct, export, or erase, and nothing is sold or shared.
If a future version of the app ever changes what it does with data, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the change will be called out in the app itself. The no-network guarantee is the product; we do not intend to change it.
